The Donations Board has been formed to consider and approve
and requests for contributions. The board all knew Jim in different
ways and had their own unique relationship with him. The aim of
the board is to ensure the direction and contributions from the
trust are in line with what Jim stood for. |

Tony Philippson
It saddens us to report the sudden death of Tony Philippson, James' father on 10th June 2014.
The strength of character, nobility, courage and resolve shown by him when he was fighting the cause of our soldiers in conflict is clearly a characteristic which both he and James shared. |

David
Philippson |
Hi,
Im Dave Philippson, I run an advertising agency in London.
I
was James younger brother by two years. We were very
close, particularly over recent years and shared the same
group of friends and spent many memorable times together.
I
knew my brother very well and will ensure that all of the
money raised is donated to causes that my brother would
have supported.

James
was my elder son and as a result of our tragic and dreadful
loss, his brother, family and friends jointly felt a need
to focus on positive actions, hence the setting up of the
Captain James Philippson Trust.
In my early career, I had extensive experience in international
sales and marketing, and more recently, I became the clerk
to the council of a Parish in Hertfordshire. I am now retired
and currently undertaking a Bereavement Counselling Course
with the Institute of Counselling.

Martha
Crossley |
Hi,
I'm Martha. I was James' girlfriend for a very special time
in both of our lives. James showed me how to live life to
the full, to get off the sofa and not waste a minute of the
day. I feel privileged that I had the chance to be with him
and get to know his family. Positivity, a glass half full
attitude was James' outlook on life and I try to live by that
day to day. Fundraising for James is a great thing to do and
my skills as an HR Manager should ensure that I wheedle enough
contributions from people for his fund. The money will go
to worthy causes particularly disabled children which is close
to my heart as my niece is disabled.
As one of the board members I will work closely with the others
to raise as much money as possible in James's memory. |

Adam
Vanstone |
I
knew Jim, Mr Bond, since the age of five and we pretty much
grew up together, sharing some of the best years of our lives.
Although it generally felt that his favourite thing in the
world was to wind me up and make me ‘flash’, he
was a true and loyal friend and like a brother to me. |

Bill

Hello!
I'm Bill and was a life long friend of Jim's. I met Jim at
Kiligrew Primary School in St. Albans where Jim, Adam and
I became good friends. Jim moved over to St.Columba’s
College in 1985 and myself the year after. We remained good
friends throughout secondary school and beyond. Jim and I
ran together when he was on leave.
I am a teacher of Art & Design. |

Keith
Izzard |
Keith
Izzard - married to Moira with 2 sons Alastair and Douglas.
There has been a friendship between the Izzard and Philippson
families for over 30 years. Keith was godfather to James,
whose parents were in turn godparents to Alastair and Douglas.
After a 34 year career in banking, latterly in a senior business
management role, Keith was able to retire in 1997 on the birth
of Douglas, when the family moved from St Albans to a new
life in the fishing village of Beer on the East Devon coast.
Beer was well known to both families as a past holiday destination.
Although retired and living a quiet family life in the village,
there is inevitably an involvement in the community on a voluntary
basis as Treasurer of a number of village organisations including
the Parish Church, Village Hall and local Fisherman's Association.
