Fiona Langridge got on her bike and cyclied up the Col d'Iseran in the French Alps, raising money for the Captain James Philippson Trust and Help for Heroes.

This was a challenge that would have been right up James' street - but instead of James standing by her yelling "come on Fi, you can do it", her husband John was right alongside for this leg before cycling off to do a challenge of his own, again for Help for Heroes.

Fiona said "The Col d'Iseran is 2770m/9000ft high, and is the highest road in Europe, but I wanted to do this challenge and wanted to support the Captain James Philippson Trust for my friend Trish, James' mum.

I knew I would suffer before, during and most definitely after the event, but was such a worthy cause I gave it my all.

UPDATE - with pictures to prove it!!

"Hi Everyone

Thank you so much for your generous sponsorship of my bike ride for Help for Heroes in memory of Captain James Philippson.

After a real 'uphill struggle' I was delighted and hugely relieved to reach the top of the Col de L'Iseran ( Europe's highest paved road). I can honestly say it was the most difficult thing I have ever had to do.

There were many moments when I thought I'm not going to make this, but I thought of James and Trish and that gave me the strength to go on.

Thank you all once again"
